ICAN LEKKI AND DISTRICT SOCIETY (ICAN LEDS) COURTESY VISIT TO LAGOS BUSINESS SCHOOL (LBS)

On July 25, 2024, a delegation from the ICAN Lekki and District Society (ICAN LEDS) visited Lagos Business School (LBS) for a courtesy call. The primary objective of the visit was to foster collaboration and explore potential partnerships between the two institutions.

The meeting, which commenced at 12:00 PM, was hosted by Victor Banjo, Director of Executive Education at LBS.

The event commenced with introductions from representatives of both institutions. Subsequently, Victor Banjo delivered a comprehensive overview of LBS and outlined the school’s collaborative efforts with other professional institutions.

Chinedum Enwuzie, MBA Director, delved into the details of the MBA and DBA programs offered by LBS emphasizing the benefits of partnerships such as the ones currently with the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) which significantly enhance the value proposition for students.

The Chairman of ICAN LEDS expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception extended by LBS. She presented a concise overview of ICAN LEDS, emphasizing its commitment to member development and its role in contributing to the professional landscape. Recognizing the potential synergies between the two institutions, she extended an invitation to ICAN members of LBS to join ICAN LEDS and encouraged staff with ACCA to convert to ICAN. In addition, she invited the LBS faculty and students to actively participate in ICAN LEDS initiatives. Two key projects, “Catch Them Young” and “Job Fare,” were highlighted as potential areas for collaboration. LBS faculties can also contribute their expertise in ICAN programs such as ICAN on Air and at the ICAN conferences.

The ICAN LEDS Vice Chairman and a few other delegates echoed the Chairman’s remark regarding the importance of fostering a collaborative relationship between the two institutions. They stated that the main goal of the visit was to create awareness about ICAN LEDS and the growth of the society is of high priority.

They expressed keen interest in establishing a dedicated meeting space within the LBS premises to facilitate regular interactions and knowledge exchange. Additionally, the possibility of developing customized programs for ICAN members at discounted rates was explored, along with potential exemptions for MBA students.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing a strong commitment to exploring avenues for collaboration at both the district and national levels.

The meeting concluded with a gift exchange, refreshments, and a tour of the Lagos Business School campus.
