Mary Dinah, Lady of Ellington has announced the opening of the Lady Mary Dinah Park, a new biodiversity park spanning 10,000 square meters across 9 parks and gardens which she owns in the heart of Ellington, Cambridgeshire. This park aims to foster a love for nature among children by encouraging outdoor play and educational activities, ultimately inspiring them to protect the environment, wildlife, and natural resources.
Lady Dinah is a distinguished hotelier, humanitarian, and philanthropist. She is the Founder and Chief Executive of the Mary Dinah Foundation, one of the largest NGO in the world, preventing malnutrition through the distribution of dietary foods in local communities and conflict areas. The Foundation focuses on vulnerable populations, including children, women, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), people with disabilities, and the elderly. Since receiving the title “Lady of Ellington,” it has been her passion to support the community by transforming green spaces into vibrant parks.
The Lady Mary Dinah Park will be a haven where families can reconnect with nature and learn about the importance of environmental stewardship. Serving as a landmark for future generations, the park is a vital reminder of our precious planet and the necessity of nurturing it.
The park will feature a range of interactive programs designed to engage children in conservation and sustainable living. To enhance local biodiversity, a variety of native trees will be planted throughout the parks, creating habitats for various wildlife species and contributing to the overall health of the ecosystem. The park will also introduce beneficial creatures, such as pollinators and natural pest controllers, to maintain ecological balance and promote a thriving natural environment.
