Ogun First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, is a happy woman right now. The reason behind her joyous mood is not far-fetched. Mrs. Abiodun completed another trip around the sun in fine style. It’s a special day for the beautiful wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun because birthdays come once every year. And that’s why we are here to blow her trumpet because she has brought so much finesse and class to the office of the first lady in Ogun State. Described as everything a woman of substance stands for, Mrs. Abiodun strolled into the purposeful limelight when her husband became the Governor of Ogun State a few years ago. And what a blessing she has been to her husband and his government in the last five years or so. Mrs. Abiodun’s positive energy has rubbed off positively on her husband. This is evident in the giant strides recorded by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, who is in the second tenure of his mandate as Ogun State governor.
Apart from offering moral support to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the first lady has also been in the thick of action, working tirelessly for the success of Governor Abiodun’s administration’s goal of building our future together. A lover of initiatives supporting women’s empowerment, Mrs. Abiodun has been at the forefront of advocacy and initiatives supporting the protection of women and girls from all forms of violence. She is the chairperson of the management committee of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law in Ogun State. During the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, she led the march to the Governor’s Office along with the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and other stakeholders and champions of women’s rights. Not only that, Mrs. Abiodun is the face of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Women Agricultural Support Programme and the RHI Social Investment Programme for People Living With Disabilities in Ogun State. She recently hosted the nation’s first lady. The RHI programmes, a vision of First Lady Remi Tinubu, are designed to uplift Nigerian families through a programme that impacts people at the grassroots. And Mrs. Abiodun is the one leading the march to lift Ogun women out of poverty through the RHI programme.
Additionally, Mrs. Abiodun, through her foundation, the Ajose Foundation, has continued to be a blessing to Ogun women. Through the foundation, she has carried out economic stimulus programmes for Ogun women, including scholarships for children, free surgeries, and cash grants for small businesses. An epitome of beauty and brain, Mrs. Abiodun has raised the bar so high for other wives of governors in terms of steeze and composure, advocacy, and elegance. The Iya Egbe Abobayo of Ijebu Land is not lacking in the fashion department, either. She has been teaching other fashionable women a powerful lesson on mature fashion statements. No doubt, the elegant Ogun First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has done well for herself and the image of her husband’s government.
