Serial Entrepreneur Aisha Achimugu’s Passion for Humanity

Undoubtedly, the top player in the nation’s oil sector and serial entrepreneur, Aisha Achimugu, always feels a compelling need to impact society positively. Although it is a known fact that she loves a good life, after all, she works hard for money. But unlike many in her social class, she prioritises charity a great deal, and she is always receptive to any initiative targeted at lessening the burdens of the hoi polloi around her. Yet, the mother of three doesn’t seem to see any “big deal” in her philanthropic deeds, insisting that she has made a vow to God to always put as much bread on the tables of her suffering compatriots as humanly possible.

Blessed with a deep pocket, a large heart, and even a deeper passion for humanity, the soft-spoken philanthropist has over the years proved to be a pacesetter in terms of humanitarian gestures. If you choose to write about her uncommon feats as a businesswoman, you will come up with volumes of work that will interest a bibliophile. In the same way, if you choose to document her philanthropic acts in black and white, your hand may grow tired.

Recently, the successful entrepreneur, as usual, showcased her act of altruism when she was one of the guests at a birthday soirée in Abuja organised by the Global Initiative for Peace, Love, and Care. The well-attended event had been put together for an equally successful businessman, Julius Rone, OFR, the Chief Executive Officer of UTM Offshore Limited, UTMOL, who turned 50 on June 25, amidst pomp and ceremony. The organisers, among others, aimed to raise the sum of N50 million for 50 ailing individuals who needed to undergo various surgeries.

Looking back now, the organisers are extremely joyful that they did not leave out Achimugu when they were sending out the invites. Though the event has come and gone, her philanthropic gesture on the occasion has since been generating interesting discourse in the media. Like a God-sent, she had joyfully donated a humongous amount of N20 million in support of the cause, a donation that made the hall rise and tumble in joy. Achimugu also added colour to the event when she gladdened the heart of a seven-year-old violin player with a donation of a million naira. According to her, the young girl had dazzled her with her uncommon brilliance and rare talent, hence the monetary gift.
