In a momentous occasion for the legal community, Cynthia Kikelomo Egwim was formally called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. The prestigious ceremony took place at the Body of Benchers complex in Jabi, adjacent to the EFCC headquarters, marking a significant milestone in Cynthia’s academic and professional journey.

Born in Ibadan in the early 1970s to Mr. and Mrs. Grace Daraloye from Ipele, Owo in Ondo State, Cynthia’s educational path began in Ile Ife, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She later moved to Akure to finalize her secondary studies before attending OSCAS in Ile Ife. Driven by a desire for knowledge, she further pursued her education at the University of East London’s Docklands campus, where she obtained her first degree in sociology. She graduated at the law department from Imo State University, Owerri, her dedication to her studies and passion for the law have culminated in this prestigious achievement.

The day continued with a grand reception at Jie Esekhile Apartments in Life Camp, Abuja, where friends, family, and colleagues gathered to celebrate Cynthia’s achievement. The event served as a fitting tribute to her hard work and the journey that has led her to this pivotal point in her career.

Her legal career that is just beginning is with clear ambition as she aims to make positive contributions to Nigeria’s legal framework. Inspired by her discipline, she hopes to empower others, particularly women, to pursue their dreams in the field of law.
