All roads led to Kemta, Idi-Aba area of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, as one of Abeokuta’s oldest churches, Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church, rolled out the drums to celebrate its golden jubilee anniversary. The vibrant church, founded by one of Nigeria’s renowned God’s generals, Evangelist Edward Adeoye Shobanke, blossomed over the past five decades like a tree planted by the river, bringing forth fruits in and out of season. Under the spiritual leadership of Evangelist Shobanke, known for his spirit-filled sermons and Christ-like lifestyle, Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church grew in leaps and bounds, with branches both within and beyond the shores of Nigeria. And that was why the church celebrated on August 17th, 2024, the incredible manifestations of God’s faithfulness over the church and every member of the well-known congregation.
According to the lineup of events scheduled to mark the milestone anniversary, a powerful celebration service was on the cards for the day. The celebration service was expected to be graced by top church leaders, church friends, and other high-profile guests from all walks of life. One major event lined up was the launch and dedication of books written by the man of God, Evangelist E. Ade Shobanke. Some of the life-changing books included Exploits of Faith, My Messages (containing over 250 prepared sermons), Jesus the Healer, and My Testimonies. The 50th-anniversary service wrapped up with thanksgiving and a scorecard of the church’s giant strides in the last 50 years of spreading the gospel of Christ. Regarded as one of the few shining lights in the body of Christ, Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church has continued to be a blessing to the Christian faith and humanity.
