Seyi Tinubu’s Unrelenting Advocacy for Youth Empowerment

Who doesn’t know Seyi Tinubu? Seyi, one of the sons of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is arguably one of the most influential people under 40 in Africa. Phenomenal is the closest word to describe what the younger Tinubu has accomplished both in business and philanthropy. In a country where it’s almost impossible for people from privileged backgrounds to get any credit for their efforts, Yes, his last name opens great doors but takes nothing away from Seyi’s labour. Seyi, fondly called ST by admirers, has proved that he is his own man. Seyi has proved that there’s more to him than just being Tinubu’s son. He is hardworking, quiet, and a goal-getter.

Unknown to naysayers, before his father’s presidency, Seyi had already carved a niche for himself as a serial entrepreneur. He is the Chief Executive Officer and CEO of Loatsad Promomedia, an out-of-home advertising company. Ask anybody familiar with the outdoor advertising business in Lagos about Loatsad Promomedia, and you’ll be quickly told that this is the agency that changed the face of out-of-home advertising in Lagos. Seyi’s Loatsad Promomedia is rated as one of the top 3 biggest outdoor advertising agencies in Lagos. And this is not overhyped one bit. Loatsad Promomedia footprints abound across strategic locations in Lagos. Loatsad Promomedia is proof of Seyi’s entrepreneurial capabilities. It’s therefore fitting to say that Seyi is an employer of labour who is doing his bit to help bridge the unemployment gap in the country by creating job opportunities for hundreds of his compatriots.

But what has given Seyi purposeful fame is politics. Obviously, he’s following in his father’s footsteps. The good thing about Seyi’s politics is that it’s pro-youth. Seyi himself, a young man in his late thirties, has been at the forefront of efforts to enhance youth participation in politics. Apart from being one of the biggest advocates of youth empowerment, Seyi has used his privileged position to push behind-the-scenes policies aimed at uplifting the members of his ‘constituency’โ€”the y youth community. Despite the numerous online attacks on the person of his father, Seyi has demonstrated unusual maturity. He’s never engaged in drama with anyone, either online or offline, no matter the provocation. His humility is one of his Omoluabi traits. This energetic young man is a study in focus. He’s determined to help his father’s government succeed. Though not an official of his father’s government, Seyi has been a major force behind the involvement of young people in the current Tinubu administration. I’m not the type to brag, but it’s hard to deny Seyi’s sphere of influence in the Nigerian political landscape. Despite his growing influence across the country, Seyi remains humble and down-to-earth.

In addition, Seyi has had incredible success in the humanitarian world thanks to his Noella Foundation, a foundation he co-founded with his adorable wife, Layal, in 2018. According to information on the foundation’s website, “their mission was clear: to work with a dedicated network of partners to develop and execute impactful initiatives that address various key challenges that Nigerian society currently faces. Our mission at the Noella Foundation is to transform the lives of vulnerable and marginalised women, children, young adults, and the elderly in specific communities and provide lastingย  solutions.” Like his father, Seyi has repeatedly shown that he has an overflowing milk of human kindness. There is nothing like perfection in humanity, but in terms of genuine commitment to the development of Nigeria’s young people, Seyi Tinubu has covered himself in glory. He has done well for himself and his image.
